Lunar New Year

The legend of the Lunar New Year (which some call the Chinese New Year) tells how the emperor set up a 12-year calendar by organizing a race between animals. The first 12 to cross the finish line get a spot on the calendar.
This story was very popular with my students. We are working on the theme of around the world and have done Asia at the time of the Lunar New Year. This story also works for the theme tales and legends and also works on positioning in mathematics (1st to 12th).

This yoga session alternates dynamic movements, breathing, balance and stretching.

At the end of the story I repeat the 12 animals in order with their position.
